The documents appear to show scientists are holding back, or ignoring, evidence. One even suggested using a “trick” to hide a trend of falling temperatures.

What terrible reporting! The “trick” was not to hide falling temperature, but rather to deal with a data region where the tree ring proxy method of determining temps was known inaccurate (a problem not “hidden”, but openly published and discussed) – for a chart on a cover of a WMO publication – NOT as an official data set.

The final fallout from the emails was pretty much what was expected – they amounted to nothing. It was a carefully staged diversion just before the meeting – showing the extent the monied interests will go to to deceive the public about the scientific consensus that humans are driving global warming. The “weather forecaster” from London is just one of the many hacks in the cottage industry of professional GW denial. It’s a great gig – you KNOW Big Oil will fund your “research”.
